At Hyatt Regency Chesapeake Bay, F&B operations span 11 outlets with very different service models, from banquets and restaurants to golf, marina, spa, retail, and in-room dining.

Managing that complexity required more than a POS replacement. The resort needed a platform that could support faster service, stronger reporting, tablet-based ordering, and reliable connectivity with its core hotel systems. To support this transformation, Hyatt Regency Chesapeake Bay implemented Shiji Infrasys POS together with Stellaris Digital Dine in January 2025, creating a connected F&B ecosystem integrated with their PMS, their Back Office system, Evention, World of Hyatt, and other critical business systems.

Today, the platform supports the management of more than 72,000 checks, 221,000 covers, and nearly USD 8 million in net sales during the first half of 2026, providing the operational visibility needed to manage a large and diverse resort environment.

The challenge

At Hyatt Regency Chesapeake Bay Golf Resort, Spa & Marina, operations are not concentrated in one dining room or one service flow. They stretch across 11 outlets, ranging from signature restaurants, pool bars and banquets to golf, marina, spa, retail, and in-room dining, each with different ordering patterns, service expectations, and reporting needs.

As volume increased across the resort, the existing POS environment had to keep pace with faster check processing, clearer outlet-level visibility, and reliable connectivity to the hotel’s core systems.

Our primary goals were to improve system speed, increase reliability, and create a faster ordering and check-processing experience for both our teams and our guests. — Anant Bajpai, Assistant Director of Rooms

At the same time, maintaining seamless connectivity with the hotel's broader technology ecosystem, including their PMS and their back office solution, was essential to ensuring uninterrupted daily operations.

Beyond the technology itself, the implementation emphasized structured communication between the hotel and the Shiji project team. According to the property's feedback, having dedicated points of contact throughout the rollout helped streamline communication, resolve questions efficiently, and keep the project moving forward.

For a resort operating across multiple outlets, implementation support extended beyond project management. Clear communication, close collaboration, and ongoing operational support helped build a stronger foundation for adoption while reinforcing the importance of frontline training as the platform continues to evolve.

Building the right technology foundation

The project needed more than a POS replacement. Hyatt Regency Chesapeake Bay needed a platform that could support 11 F&B outlets, connect with core hotel systems, and give teams a clearer view of daily operations.

The implementation focused on connecting the resort's service models with the business systems needed to run them efficiently.

The property also highlighted the importance of clear communication during the rollout. Dedicated Shiji contacts helped answer questions quickly and keep the project moving. They also identified frontline training and ongoing operational support as areas to strengthen future deployments.

We were looking for stronger reporting, better check tracking, improved product mix visibility, and the flexibility to support tablet-based ordering across our operation. — Anant Bajpai, Assistant Director of Rooms

Operational Outcomes

Since going live with Infrasys POS, Hyatt Regency Chesapeake Bay has gained a consolidated view of food and beverage performance across its diverse resort operation. During the first half of 2026 alone, the platform provided visibility into:

·      72,000+ checks processed

·      221,000+ covers served

·      Nearly USD 8 million in net sales

Having dedicated contacts throughout the implementation gave us clear points of communication and helped keep the project moving forward with confidence. — Anant Bajpai, Assistant Director of Rooms

Comparing equivalent operating periods (January 21–June 30) between 2025 and 2026, the resort recorded several positive operational trends:

·      9.7% increase in net sales

·      10.5% increase in net sales per cover

·      20.8% increase in net sales per check

·      Stable cover volume, providing a clearer view of changing guest spending patterns

Infrasys POS reporting also enables the hotel to evaluate performance at the individual outlet level, helping operational teams make more informed decisions across the resort. During the same comparable period:

·      Banquets increased net sales by nearly 17%while remaining the property's largest revenue center.

·      Eagle's Nest Bar & Grille recorded approximately 40% growth in net sales.

·      Outlet-level reporting provides visibility into performance trends that support staffing, menu planning, and revenue optimization.

With a centralized view of operational and financial performance across all outlets, hotel teams can identify trends, compare results, and make more informed decisions across a complex resort operation.

Extending the Guest Experience Beyond the Table

While Infrasys POS provides operational visibility across the resort, Stellaris Digital Dine extends that foundation by creating a more convenient and connected ordering experience for guests.

For a destination resort where guests move between restaurants, recreational facilities, and guestrooms throughout their stay, digital ordering supports multiple service scenarios while giving hotel teams a centralized way to manage menus, ordering channels, and guest-facing experiences.

Since its implementation in January 2025, Stellaris Digital Dine has delivered measurable adoption across the resort:

·      1,237 completed digital orders

·      USD 54,000+ in digital food and beverage sales

·      USD 43.76 average digital check value

We update our menus seasonally, and Stellaris Digital Dine has made that process smooth and easy to manage. — Anant Bajpai, Assistant Director of Rooms

The available data also highlights meaningful differences inguest purchasing behavior across digital service models:

·      Room delivery represented approximately 32% of Stellaris Digital Dine orders.

·      Those orders generated nearly 46% of total digital sales.

·      Guests ordering room delivery spent nearly twice as much per transaction as those choosing pickup (USD 64 vs. USD 35).

By combining Stellaris Digital Dine with Infrasys POS, Hyatt Regency Chesapeake Bay has established a connected digital ordering platform that supports multiple dining experiences while giving hotel teams greater visibility into guest purchasing patterns. These insights help inform future menu strategies, operational planning, and commercial decisions across the resort.

Looking ahead, the connected operational environment created by Shiji Infrasys POS and Stellaris Digital Dine gives Hyatt Regency Chesapeake Bay the visibility and flexibility to adapt as guest expectations and service models continue to evolve. Ongoing collaboration, continuous optimization, and close alignment between operational and technology teams remain essential to maximizing long-term value and supporting smarter decisions across every food and beverage outlet.

One of our biggest takeaways is to involve operational leaders as early as possible, especially when configuring reporting and menu programming. That collaboration helps ensure the system is aligned with the property's day-to-day operations. — Anant Bajpai, Assistant Director of Rooms
